Hazmat Air Shippers Training – Stay Compliant, Ship Safely

This IATA Hazmat Air Shippers DGR training will help satisfy function-specific training mandates for professionals who are responsible for compliance with domestic or international hazmat/dangerous goods (DG) air shipping regulations. Lion’s training is designed for personnel in categories 1, 2, 3, and 4 as defined in the IATA DGR in Table 1.5A.

IATA requires re-training every 24 months (IATA DGR 1.5). Major air carriers, including UPS and FedEx, require compliance with the latest edition of the IATA DGR.

Why Hazmat Air Shippers Training Is Mandatory

Under Title 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations (49 CFR), any employee who prepares, offers, or transports hazardous materials by ground must complete hazmat training. This training covers critical topics such as:

  • Proper classification and identification of hazardous materials

  • Packaging, marking, and labeling requirements

  • Completion of shipping papers and documentation

  • Emergency response procedures

  • Carrier-specific requirements (FedEx, UPS, USPS, DHL)

Training must be renewed every three years, and failing to comply can result in significant fines-up to $238,000 per violation in 2025 for serious offenses.
